Me and my money: Paidi O Se
Worst buy was holiday home, best was my Adidas boots -- but health beats wealth

GAA legend Paidi O Se (pictured) is quick to pinpoint where his major spending mistake was.
"I purchased a holiday property in Spain five years ago at the height of the property bubble," he said.
"It's hard to know whether it's the biggest mistake I've made but it's certainly up there. Having said that, if things turned the way we're all hoping, there's hope for it yet.
"My best-ever buy was my first pair of Adidas football boots purchased back in 1968. I was only a garsun of 10 years of age but boots wise I was the envy of all my club team-mates. I was disappointed not to get the call for the Adidas World Cup campaign. I'd still have something to offer.
"Beyond putting some savings aside for a rainy day my "plan" is not overly complicated. I am hoping to take it a little easier as I draw on 60 but that's a while away yet.
"My biggest ongoing waste of money is my mobile phone. It puts a hole in my pocket and I've no peace with it.
"If I could have anything regardless of price it would be good health . . . every time.
"I drive a Chrysler which I have for nearly five years. I'd be embarrassed to tell you what I paid for it.
"Did I ever buy shares? Had a share in a greyhound. It broke my heart.
"If I won the Lotto, I would buy ongoing good health for myself and my family or anything that would help health wise.
"More money or more time off? More time off. Gan dabth!"
