How to claim card protection refund

Providers of credit cards that offered 'card protection policies' are in the process of posting letters to their customers to tell them they have a chance to claim a refund.
The claim form must be completed, signed and returned within 90 days to qualify for a refund.
Once your claim is received the card provider is likely to respond to you within 40 business days.
Customers who bought this insurance from Bank of Ireland, MBNA and Ulster Bank may be eligible for a claim.
The relevant period for a claim is back to August 1, 2006.
Homecare Insurance Ltd, a subsidiary of the British CPP group, sold these policies through the card providers.
If you don't receive a letter but think you may be eligible for a claim, then contact the credit card provider directly.
Include a statement on the form that you should not have been sold the policy as the card provider covers any losses from the theft or loss of the card as long as you inform the provider.
The Central Bank has requested those who sold the product to give a refund of premiums, plus compensatory interest.
