Guide to managing Christmas
Tuesday December 15 2009
CREDIT unions around the country are distributing a guide to members urging them to seek advice on budgeting and advising them to plan well to enjoy a better Christmas.
Consumers should plan how much they are going to spend and how much they can afford to spend.
Shoppers should also make a list so they know what they want to purchase before hitting the shops. Last-minute panic buying always costs more.
Also worth doing is using cash and avoiding borrowing 'expensive money' via store cards, credit cards, catalogues and moneylenders.
Read the small print if you borrow or enter a 'buy now, pay later' deal. Some firms penalise for early loan repayments.
