Credit Cards

If you ever forget why bankers should be put in a cement mixer full of old nappies and bin juice, just have another look at your credit card bill.

The IMF and EU look like paragons of generosity by comparison. AIB's Be Card charges not one or two or even three times the rate we're charged for the so-called bailout. It charges almost FOUR times the interest rate. If the country can't afford it, how can we? And we own AIB. On a €1,000 debt over a year:

Best: Bank of Ireland "Clear" credit card -- 13.3 per cent

Avoid: AIB "Be" credit card -- 22.7 per cent

Saving: up to €94

Contact: www.bankofireland.ie or local branches
