Feeling the pinch? Win a financial makeover

Do you spend half the month counting down to payday?

Is every cent you make gobbled up by bills and unexpected expenses?

Have you forgotten what the inside of a plane looks like because you haven't been able to afford a foreign holiday for a few years?

Have you had to turn down wedding and birthday party invites because you can't afford a night out -- never mind the gift?

Has it been an age since you had the money to update your wardrobe?

If any of this rings true for you, perhaps you could be the ideal candidate for our financial makeover. The Sunday Independent is looking for an individual or family to take part in our very own Operation Financial Transformation.

We're teaming up with financial advisers, The Money Advisers, and private health insurance expert Dermot Goode to find out how we can save some of your hard-earned cash.

We'll see if we can save you money on insurance and day-to-day bills. We'll find out what other big ticket items you have to fork out for each year and suggest ways to cut the cost.

If you think that you fit the bill, then all you need is to do email us at lmcbride@independent.ie with a brief description of you and your family (if you have one) and why you think you need a financial makeover this January.

The closing date for receipt of entries is next Friday, January 17, so get cracking.

The winning family or individual will then need to collect together all their financial details for our expert deal finders to start scavenging around and finding the best offers available on the market.

Terms and conditions apply and the editor's decision is final. The winner agrees to partake in the promotional activity, including images and financial profiling in the Sunday Independent.

Terms and conditions:

The Sunday Independent financial makeover will purely give financial advice to a chosen candidate and it is at the candidate's discretion whether or not to follow this advice.

The Sunday Independent does not accept any liability for any financial loss which may be incurred if the chosen candidate follows the advice in the makeover.

The winner of the makeover will be notified later this month.

The winner of the makeover agrees to have any financial details supplied for the purposes of the makeover published.
