Eason are offering 10% off school books plus free delivery using a code available on their homepage, www.easonschoolbooks.com.

SchoolBooksDirect have a 10% off school books and stationery offer with nationwide delivery for €4.99 on www.schoolbooksdirect.ie, while SchoolBooks.ie have a whopping 12.5% off, or alternatively free covers for all your school books. You choose one offer at checkout. Visit www.schoolbooks.ie for more details.

Shop early to get uniforms that fit

There's 20% off school uniforms in Marks and Spencer at the moment. This offer runs until early July but I'd recommend you order sooner than later to get the sizes you want. This is available both online and in stores, with free express delivery for purchases over €59, and free standard delivery for purchases over €30. You'll find more information, terms and conditions on www.marksandspencer.ie.

Dunnes Stores and Tesco also have budget school uniforms in stock, and while there are no sale prices at the moment, they are still decent value. Dunnes Stores offer free delivery on orders over €50 as well. For more information see www.dunnesstores.com and in Tesco shops nationwide.

Back to school for adults

This summer might just be the season to learn a new skill. Airfield Estate in Dundrum have a number of adult workshops and courses on offer. Learning how to make your own cheese for €45 with Gaby Wieland seems like an absolute bargain. Also available are workshops on willow basketry, and how to make a probiotic lunchbox. Members of Airfield receive a 10% discount on these classes.

One of the more interesting classes at Airfield is the basic motor maintenance course which runs on a Monday evening over five weeks for the budget price of €110 per person (before membership discount). The most recent course commenced two weeks ago but keep an eye on their website to see when this course runs again. Keeping your car in good condition is an essential life skill. See www.airfield.ie for more information.

Medication time

This ingenious medication box with a timer is available from Lidl stores nationwide today for €6.99. It can be adjusted for up to four timings with automatic daily reminders, a snooze function, and an alarm signal. Within there are four compartments to match each of the alarms. Whether you take medication regularly once at the same time everyday and like to be reminded, or if you need to space your medication at regular intervals, this strikes me as a great buy. Even more so if you have a family member who can sometimes forget to take their medication on occasion. The medication box is part of a wider range of mobility aids/independent living products on sale from today. For more see www.lidl.ie and it's available while stocks last.
