Get a pizza - the gluten-free way
Commencing next Monday 9 May, Coeliac Awareness Week is aimed at showing people how easy it is to cook and eat well on a gluten-free diet. In conjunction with the awareness campaign, a number of retailers and restauranteurs will have special offers next week.
Tesco will have 20% off selected items in their 'Free From' range which offers certified gluten-free products that you would classically associate with wheat such as pasta, bread, cereals and flour. Aldi confirms that its 'Has No' range will also be on special offer during the week, and due to popular demand their gluten-free frozen pizzas (pictured) are available throughout the year in all their stores nationwide for €2.49 each.
See www.coeliacireland.com for more information on promotions, and living on a gluten-free diet.
The early bird catches the Bloom tickets
Keeping an eye firmly on the next Bank Holiday weekend, Ireland's biggest garden festival, Bloom In The Park, returns for the June Bank Holiday, starting on Thursday 2 June and finishing on Monday 6 June. Tickets bought at the gate can be expensive, but you can book in advance online and save your money for shopping on site on the day. Advance tickets for adults are priced at €18 per day, and if you intend to visit more than once there is now an option to buy a two-day ticket for €32, or a season ticket (all four days) for €54. As always, children go free. Visit www.bloominthepark.com to order your tickets in advance.
Floral offerings are bedding in nicely at Tesco
During May, Tesco will have a 2-for-€5 on their bedding range which is predominantly grown in Ireland and Bord Bia approved. These include Petunia (pictured), Geranium, Gardenmums, Lobelia, and Marigold. Also on special offer is a mixed bedding carry-pack of six plant varieties for €5.99. Bedding offers are available while stocks last; you'll find limited information on these products online as they are not a delivery item, but visit www.tesco.ie to find your local store.
Luscious lips - on a budget
Picking up a lipstick in a thrift shop doesn't always bode well. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this PS Liquid Lipstick in a nude colour for just €2.50. It has held up just as well as other, far more pricier options, and has become a permanent fixture in my handbag. You'll find it while stocks last from the PS range in Penneys, along with many other beauty items for fans on a budget. www.primark.ie
