DRIVERS will have more choice when buying motor insurance after Bank of Ireland decided to enter the market.
It said it will offer customers of the bank discounts of up to 25pc - existing banking customers will receive a discount of 20pc on their car insurance policy, while home insurance customers will get a further discount of 5pc.
A spokeswoman for the bank claimed the new policies would be “competitively priced”.
Customers will be able to pay their premiums monthly without incurring an extra charge.
There will also be free breakdown cover in Ireland.
The “prestige” option offers extra cover such as no claims discount protection and replacement locks.
The new products are underwritten by RSA Insurance Ireland.
