FOUR companies are establishing new operations in Cork and Dublin, creating 83 jobs.
US company Sound &Sea Technologies, which provides a range of ocean and marine engineering services for the analysis, engineering development, fabrication and installation of undersea systems is setting up a European base.
Under this, it will establish Sound & Sea Europe, creating 20 jobs, and Marine Micopile Technology, employing 35 people.
Both businesses will be based in Ringaskiddy, Cork.
Entertainment company Improv Asylum will establish its European Corporate Training entity, IA innovation in Dublin creating 12 jobs over the next three years.
And up to 10 jobs are to be created in The capital by Strategic Marketing Innovations over the next year as it expands its US operation to Ireland.
The companies were introduced to Ireland through ConnectIreland, the company responsible for delivering the Government's Succeed in Ireland initiative, as part of the Action Plan for Jobs.
"This has brought a really new approach to foreign direct investment as it helps to attract different types of companies that might have escaped the attention of Irish agencies,"Taoiseach Enda Kenny said.
The jobs were announced at the third Global Irish Economic Forum in Dublin Castle.
