Mood altered dresses at the Science Gallery

Dresses that combine technology and fashion to express the wearer's emotions are part of the display at an exhibition at the Science Gallery at Trinity College.

Technology giant Intel's Irish Internet of Things division launched its participation at the Lifelogging exhibition with a three-day live model exhibit of the Intel Edison-powered Spider Smart Dress and the Synapse Smart Dress.

The dresses blend fashion with robotics and wearable technology to express the wearer's emotions and protect their personal space.

The Spider dress (above) integrates Intel's Edison chip and a range of sensors to show on the outside what the wearer is feeling within.

This captivating couture is the latest exploration into what can happen when the worlds of robotics, wearable technology and fashion collide.
