Mincon appoints Chief Technical Officer as CEO

Shannon-based engineering services firm Mincon has appointed Joe Purcell as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, replacing Kevin Barry who is retiring after 31 years with the group.
Mr Purcell has been with Mincon for 27 years, most recently serving as Chief Technical Officer for the group, where he had oversight for the design and development of Mincon's product range.
The appointment will be effective from 28 May after the conclusion of the company’s annual general meeting. Mr Barry served as CEO of Mincon for 25 years
Mincon’s Chairman Padraig McManus said: "After an extensive and rigorous review of both internal and external applicants, the board is pleased to appoint Joe Purcell to the role of CEO of Mincon.
“In his career with Mincon, most recently as Chief Technical Officer, he has been instrumental in the growth of the group and has demonstrated the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm required to lead the company through the next phase of its journey.”
Mr Purcellsaid: "I am delighted to take on the leadership of Mincon and to build on the already strong foundations that were put in place during Kevin's time as CEO. While the current market environment is challenging for our industry, there remain numerous opportunities to strengthen and grow our business.”
