Profits at Marian Finucane firm top €1m
Accumulated profits at the media firm owned by Marian Finucane last year topped the €1m mark last year after jumping more than €25,000.
The veteran RTE star hosts two of the country's most listened to radio shows.
New accounts show that accumulated profits in the 12 months to the end of October last totalled €1,027,109 at Finucane's firm, Montrose Services Ltd.
During the 12 months, the firm's accumulated profits jumped by €25,153. This represented a more modest increase on the €68,508 gain in 2015.
During the same 2016 period, the cash pile at the firm jumped by €94,342, from €437,344 to €531,686.
Four people are employed by the firm in sales and administration, with staff costs last year decreasing from €134,087 to €120,758.
The employment costs are made up of €97,917 in wages; directors' remuneration of €20,293 and social welfare costs of €2,538.
Ms Finucane doesn't sit on the board of the firm, with the board directors listed as her husband John Clarke and son, Jack Clarke.
Pay to directors last year reduced from €21,031 to €20,293.
The firm recorded the profit last year in spite of the value of the firm's intangible assets or Ms Finucane's image rights reducing by €60,000 to €540,000.
The Dubliner remains a big ratings winner and advertising revenue generator with RTE.
The most recent JNLR figures show that Ms Finucane's Saturday show is the third-most listened to show in Ireland with an audience of 372,000.
