Independent News & Media scoops six accolades at Dublin media awards
Independent News & Media (INM), Ireland's leading news and media group, received six awards at the prestigious Media Awards gala event in Dublin.
INM's Gerry Lennon, managing director of the Sunday World and the Irish Daily Star, was honoured with the prestigious Media Hero award. The media group had been shortlisted for 12 of the 22 categories, more than any other Irish publisher.
The group, which publishes this newspaper, also took home the top prizes, securing Gold spots for Best Collaboration Between Agency and Media Owner - Multimedia for The BFC - The Big Friendly Collaboration; and for Best Research Initiative with 'The Book of Evidence,' an econometrics study published by INM in May.
This was the largest piece of research independently conducted by a publisher in Ireland, spanning more than three years and 20 million data points. INM also received the top prize of Gold for Best Creative Direction/Execution by a Media Owner for Yoplait's 'I Love My Age' campaign. 'The Book of Evidence' was also commended with a silver award in the Best Sales Initiative category.
