A big thank you to our readers for making us No 1
The Sunday Independent is indisputably Ireland's highest selling newspaper with a massive 65.3pc of the quality Sunday market share and selling an average 211,856 copies, according to official ABC audit of newspaper sales from July to December 2015.
Those outstanding sales figures are more than twice that of our nearest competitor, the Sunday Times (80,023), and could not have been achieved without our loyal readers. So thank you for your support.
The Sunday Independent also achieved an increase in its market share in 2015 - up 0.6pc for the year.
It means the Sunday Independent is now the voice of Ireland in the key Sunday market across all demographics. Readers and advertisers are attracted by incisive and hard-hitting news coverage and well- informed comment from Ireland's best writers.
In Living, Sunday Independent readers find the best feature writing, arts, books, travel and TV while LIFE magazine continues to take the pulse of the nation. Our expanded Sunday Business section and award-winning sports coverage features the best journalists in their respective fields while our new Property Section has garnered a strong and loyal readership.
Cormac Bourke, Editor, Sunday Independent said: "Thanks to our readers, it's been a great year for the Sunday Independent. We will continue to enhance and improve Ireland's favourite newspaper with a number of exciting new innovations in 2016. It goes without saying that we deeply appreciate the support of our loyal readership."
In September last year, INM officially launched its digital-led news hub. The new centralised news hub facilitates the management of editorial and content for the Irish Independent, Sunday Independent, Herald, Sunday World and Independent.ie.
The combined Print and Digital edition sales of the Sunday Independent amounted to 213,148 during the survey period while the Irish Independent attained 109,678 sales.
INM Editor-in-Chief Stephen Rae said: "We are delighted to see our titles put in strong performances and grow market share. Readers trust the Independent brand of journalism and it is driving audience across our print and online titles. The Irish Independent has grown to account for 50.4pc of the quality newspaper market during the week, selling more copies than its two main competitors combined. The Sunday Independent had an outstanding year and now accounts for 65.6pc of quality sales every week."
