Kerrygold US sales on track to increase by 30pc
Sales of Kerrygold butter are growing strongly in the US and are on target to increase by as much as 30pc during 2015, according to Ornua Foods North America.
Kerrygold Butter has now reached the number three position in the US market, up from fifth place at this time in 2014, with butter revenue increasing by over 60pc in the last 12 months.
The company did not release the exact value of Kerrygold sales in the US.
The company said that the rise in sales can be partially attributed to Increasing awareness of the nutritional benefits of choosing butter from grass fed cows.
President of Ornua North America Roisin Hennerty said: “Kerrygold’s performance in the key North American market in 2015 has been exceptional. Our butter and cheese brands are increasing in turnover and growing market share.
"While the market for dairy products overall has been positive in the US, we know that there is a particularly strong move towards sustainably produced products. This gives us considerable confidence in our ability to deliver on our ambitious and achievable growth targets."
Irish-based agri-food company Ornua, which has annual sales of €2bn and employs about 3,000 people around the world, is the owner of the Kerrygold brand.
