Web Summit co-founder Daire Hickey and actress Saoirse Ronan have been named on the prestigious Forbes '30 under 30' 2016 list.
The list, by the US publisher, recognises 600 of the "brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents and change agents" in the US and is made up of a top 30 from each of 20 different sectors.
Other talented Irish individuals to have been recognised by Forbes in prior years include Patrick and John Collison, the founders of online payments company Stripe, golfer Rory McIlroy, CoderDojo co-founder James Whelton and games designer Terry Cavanagh.
Actress Saoirse Ronan, who received critical acclaim for her role in the film adaptation of Colm Toibin's novel Brooklyn, was listed in the "Hollywood" sector.
Daire Hickey made the cut in this year's "media" sector where he was noted for his work with the Web Summit group, a business that now spans industry fairs in Hong Kong and Belfast as well as the main Web Summit itself, which last year controversially announced a move to Lisbon, Portugal.
Hickey (29), a former journalist, founded Web Summit in 2010 with Paddy Cosgrave and David Kelly.
