LONDONERS Mary and Daniel Lane (pictured) made a pact after their recent wedding to set up a 'Garth Brooks fund'.
The couple from Crystal Palace in the south of the UK capital decided to use money received as wedding presents to buy two tickets for one of his scheduled Croke Park gigs.
Now they stand to lose more than €250 if the plug is pulled on the planned series of concerts.
"It means a lot to us as a couple – and it will be so upsetting if it doesn't happen. We have tickets for the Sunday night and we're so nervous it's going to be cancelled," Mary told the Irish Independent.
"I have booked the Monday and Tuesday off work. I'm raging that this situation has come about; we paid €250 alone for our flights.
"It would just be so annoying if they don't go ahead. I bought a cowboy hat recently – I was so excited. Then this announcement came out yesterday."
She said Aiken Promotions and Dublin City Council must take "equal share of the blame".
"There will be so many bus companies all over Ireland which will be hit hard by this – this will be their biggest event of the year."
