A CONTROVERSIAL TV advertisement for bookmaker Paddy Power has been pulled by British authorities following complaints.
The ad, which featured members of the transgender community, had been pre-approved for airing by watchdog Clearcast.
The ad promised to make ladies day at Cheltenham more “exciting” by adding “beautiful transgendered ladies” with viewers asked to “spot the stallions from the mares.”
But Clearcast reversed its decision after a number of complaints.
“It appears the ad has caused offence and in consultation with broadcasters, it has been decided that the ad should no longer run,” it said in a statement.
The bookmaker described the decision as “frustrating” given that the ad had been pre-approved.
It was only aired on British TV.
