US firm creates 100 new jobs in Galway reporters

A US healthcare firm is creating 100 new jobs in Galway.

Alere, which is headquartered in Massachusetts, is establishing a business centre at the IDA’s technology park at Parkmore East.

The company develops and manufactures products that provide diagnostics and health management solutions.

It is also global leader in rapid diagnostics for cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, toxicology, oncology and women's health.

“Today’s announcement by this leading global healthcare company that they are locating their international business centre in Ireland, servicing all of their business outside the US, shows that many of our traditional strengths are still intact,” said Enteprise Minister, Richard Bruton.
