US computing firm to set up European HQ in Dublin

Marketo, one of the fastest growing Silicon Valley cloud computing companies, today announced it is to establish its European Headquarters in Dublin.

The US firm specialises in a new area of cloud computing known as revenue performance management, which combines marketing automation with sales to grow revenues utilising all the latest customer interaction points including Social Media.



The number of jobs to be located in the Dublin area has not been confirmed but the company has already commenced recruiting for sales, marketing, support, consulting and development positions.



Founded in 2006, Marketo has signed 1,000 customers in less than three years. The company, which has raised $57m, is one of the fastest growing cloud computing or Software-as-a-service companies in Silicon Valley history.



Welcoming the announcement, Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland said, "Marketo’s decision to locate its European Headquarters in Dublin is excellent news for Cloud Computing here. Ireland is fast building a reputation as a leading location for Cloud Computing activities and today’s announcement significantly adds to our Cloud portfolio.
