ULSTER BANK has launched its annual Business Achievers Awards for 2010. Companies across Connacht are invited to enter the awards, now in their 17th year, which are in association with the Irish Independent, Enterprise Ireland and InterTradeIreland.

Following the preliminary stage, shortlisted businesses will be rewarded at provincial level at an event in early February 2011. Successful businesses will then go on to compete for the national title at an all-island awards ceremony in next April.

Companies will be judged on a variety of merits, including sales performance, market-share growth, company milestones, innovative new products or services and successful achievements by key personnel.

A new category has been introduced this year -- the Service Business Award.

With services contributing to an estimated 60pc of value-add to the Irish economy, this award will recognise the innovators and leading service-delivery companies in this sector.

Entrants have a further seven categories to choose from and businesses can enter up to two categories.

Full details are available at www.businessachieversaward.com.
