Two-thirds of homes have broadband service
Almost two-thirds of households have broadband, the Commission for Communications Regulation has said.
The number of people with broadband subscriptions rose 0.5pc to 1.67 million from the previous quarter, the watchdog said yesterday.
More than a fifth of all broadband subscriptions are now in 10Mbps category, compared to 18.7pc last year. The highest proportion of customers with more than 10Mbps are using cable broadband.
Electronic communications revenues increased 0.1pc to €931m in the final quarter of 2012 from the previous quarter.
Sales fell 2.4pc compared to the same quarter last year as fewer mobile calls were made, the watchdog added.
There are around 5.46 million subscriptions to mobile phones and mobile broadband, the regulator added.
