Tullow Oil's Chief Financial Officer will be taking an extended leave of absence from Tullow for medical reasons.

According to the announcement from the firm on Thursday morning, Ian Springett will be undergoing treatment for a medical condition.

Vice President Finance and Commercial, Les Wood, will act as Interim CFO while Mr Springett is absent from his role.

Mr Wood joined Tullow in 2014 as the Group’s Vice President for Commercial.

Before joining Tullow, he worked for BP plc for 28 years in various positions including Regional CFO roles in Canada and the Middle East.
