Tech job ads target returning workers
THE IDA is embarking on an intensive social media campaign to target returning emigrants at Christmas for vacant roles in Ireland's booming tech sector.
The agency, which had a mixed year of employment announcements and job losses in the multinational sector, is highlighting more than 1,000 of the most attractive available jobs in skills-strapped firms here by advertising on the Instagram photo-sharing app.
The highlighted jobs include posts in web giants Google, Facebook and Amazon as well as roles in more traditional tech multinationals, such as HP, Ericsson and Xilinx. The IDA is also highlighting a small number of vacancies in big pharmaceutical firms such as Novartis and Eli Lilly and financial firms such as Aon, Deutsche Bank and KBC Bank. An IDA spokesman said an estimated 660,000 passengers were expected to travel through Dublin Airport over Christmas.
