Symantec's profits jump 72pc to €25m

Pre-tax profits at the Irish arm of online security firm Symantec rose by 72pc to €25m last year.
New figures show that Symantec's revenues increased from €1.56bn to €1.6bn in the 12 months to the end of April 3 last.
Numbers employed at the Irish operation increased from 927 to 987 with staff costs going from €74.73m to €83.1m.
The revenues recorded at the Irish unit accounted for 26pc of the US-based corporation's global revenues of $6.5bn (€6.1bn) in fiscal 2015.
The accounts show that remuneration for the firm's directors last year decreased sharply from €1.45m to €447,000.
The figures show that the workforce was last year made up of 602 in sales, marketing and administration with 385 in development and support.
The accounts show that the profit takes account of non-cash amortisation costs of €49.4m and non-cash depreciation costs of €3.75m.
Operating profits increased by 71pc, from €14m to €24m.
