SuperValu launches own-brand range
SUPERVALU is spending €20m to launch its own-brand range of products. It said it now has 1,500 products in the range, making it the biggest product launch in SuperValu's history.
One51 names chief financial officer
APPOINTMENT
ONE51 has named Pat Dalton as chief financial officer (CFO). The position had been vacant since last year when Alan Walsh left the role to become the investment firm's chief executive. Mr Dalton is a former CFO of Bord Gais.
Mixed results for General Motors
MOTORING
US CARMAKER General Motors made record profits in 2011, but unveiled huge losses in its European operations. The firm made a profit of $7.6bn (€5.8bn) over the year, up 62pc from 2010. However, it lost $700m (€533m) in Europe, which includes its UK Vauxhall plants, and made a $100m (€76m) loss in South America.
Arrests in Olympus fraud investigation

FORMER Olympus chairman Tsuyoshi Kikukawa and two other former executives have been arrested as part of the continuing investigations into the camera company. The firm is being probed for an accounting cover-up after it admitted to hiding $1.7bn (€1.3bn) in losses over two decades.
Apple previews its 'Mountain Lion'
TECHNOLOGY
APPLE released a preview version of its new Macintosh operating system, bringing some features of the iPad to the personal computer. The California-based company said the updated operating system, called 'Mountain Lion', will be available to Macintosh developers immediately, and Mac owners can upgrade to the new software in late summer.
