Singer Damien Rice's cash pile jumps to €500k
The cash pile at the music firm owned by singer-songwriter Damien Rice last year jumped to almost €500,000.
New figures lodged by Damien Rice Music Ltd with the Companies Office show that the cash at the company last year increased from €415,033 to €491,732.
The Kildare-born singer was back in the spotlight last year following the release of his third studio album, 'My Favourite Faded Fantasy'.
The artist will be further adding to his company's coffers with a string of upcoming dates across the Far East with gigs in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
In addition, Rice will be performing across Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Austria in June and July.
The accounts show that Rice is well-rewarded for his work and artistry with pay for two directors last year totalling €277,419.
He released his second album, '9' in 2006 and his songs have appeared in numerous films and television series including 'True Blood' and 'Grey's Anatomy'.
In a press interview around the release of his latest album, Rice said he had no interest in whether the record is commercially successful - "I've learned very, very, very clearly that money does not equal happiness or security either," he said.
