Sharp decline in price on capital's south slopes

The only development site to sell in south Co Dublin this year was bought for more than €600,000.
Located at Doonsalla Drive, off Granville Road, Johnstown, between Cabinteely and Killiney Shopping Centre (above), the site extends to 0.73 acres. Agent Jonathan Preston of Savills says it has potential for a development of about seven family houses.
The price works out at about one-10th of the €6m per acre that similar sites without planning permission fetched in the area at the height of the boom.
In Sandyford, Dublin 18, some sites sold for €20m per acre during the boom.
