Shannon Group earnings up 10pc
Shannon Group, the semi-state body which controls Shannon Airport and Shannon Heritage, said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose 10pc last year to €7.6m. Revenue was up 2pc to €67.2m. Adjusted operating profits of €3.6m, compared to €3.2m a year earlier.
Chief executive Matthew Thomas said that the company needs to continue improving its financial performance in order to undertake critical investments.
Shannon Group invested over €13m in 2016.
Shannon Heritage operates sites and attractions such as Bunratty Castle and Folk Park in Co Clare, Malahide Castle in Co Dublin, and Witness History at the GPO in Dublin which opened last year.
