Sage buys Integral in €20m deal
BRITISH accountancy software group Sage has bought Dublin-based Integral Computers in a deal worth up to €20m.
The all-cash acquisition was described by Sage as "a strategically significant move that will position the company to capitalise on the convergence of physical and online shopping".
Under the terms of the sale, Integral will be rebranded as Sage Pay and will be integrated into the Sage Pay business.
All 40 Integral staff will be transferred to Sage. No jobs will be lost.
The deal sees Sage Pay, the online payments arm of Sage, get Integral's various point-of-sale devices such as chip-and-pin machines that are used across the UK and Ireland.
Sage Pay's European chief executive Simon Black said Integral's technology will "enable Sage Pay to provide best-in-class multi-channel payment services".
"The two businesses share a passion for delivering a great customer experience founded on brilliant software," he said.
Integral managing director Sean Wilson described the deal as "an exciting new opportunity for our employees, customers and suppliers".
