Ryanair numbers up by record 13pc

RYANAIR'S passenger traffic grew 13pc year-on-year in July to 7.61 million, marking a new monthly record for the airline. It beat the previous monthly record of 6.8 million passengers that were carried in August 2009. Its load factor in July was 88pc, down one percentage point on a year earlier.
Class action suit filed against Elan
A CLASS action lawsuit has been filed in New York against Irish drug company Elan as well as its chief executive, Kelly Martin, by investors who claim he and the firm breached US laws in relation to announcements about the efficacy of a drug being developed to treat Alzheimer's disease.
