Pension and investment firm Royal London has appointed Alex Koslowski as managing director of its Irish business, taking over from Jon Glen, who has taken up a new role at the firm in the UK.

Mr Koslowski was previously head of customer proposition at Royal London, and has also spent time in the firm's international business, group strategy, and broker protection teams.

The Oxford doctorate graduate thanked Mr Glen for his role in increasing the firm's footprint in Ireland.

"Since starting in Dublin, I’ve been learning all about brokers, their customers and the market here. There’s a great team in place and they have built a really strong proposition over the last 5 years. It’s been fantastic to see how brokers have responded so positively to these developments, which has helped grow Royal London Ireland’s new business and revenue levels," he said.

Last year Royal London posted a 40pc increase in new business across the group with Ireland contributing strongly to the firm's growth.
