Rival tongues wagging after White defection
THE defection of Rossa White (right) from Davy stockbrokers to the National Treasury Management Agency has set tongues wagging.
Davy's many rivals wonder why the Dawson Street broker, which saw many staff members borrow heavily at the end of 2006 to fund a €300m-plus management buyout, is losing so many well-known staff to government agencies. It is just a few months since banking analyst Scott Rankin left Davy for the Department of Finance.
They are worried the defections will strengthen links between the NTMA, Merrion Street and the only Irish-based primary dealer in Irish government bonds.
