Low-key developer Ross paid off Nama in 2015, after refinancing his last 40m in debts with private equity group Carlyle Cardinal. He also owns hotels including the Dylan. Ross was one of the biggest housebuilders during the boom, constructing around 16,000 homes around Dublin. He told a court that he was probably a billionaire during those days. Ross was one of the ‘Maple 10', a group of businessmen that bought shares in Anglo Irish Bank as part of a controversial and complex transaction.
