Ray Coyle's Largo foods bought the Tayto brand from drinks firm C&C for 68m in 2006, adding brands such as Hunky Dory, which adopted controversial, headline-grabbing ads.
German food group Intersnack bought a minority stake and bought the company outright in 2015. It emerged last month that he is stepping down as company chairman and as a director. Defying the naysayers, Coyle developed the Tayto Park theme park in Meath, spending over 45m to turn it into one of the country's biggest outdoor tourist attractions. Visitor numbers continue to grow.
