Paul Anderson and his family own the Omniplex cinema chain, which has 22 multiplex cinemas around the country — 11 in the Republic and 11 in the North. Founded by Kevin Anderson, the cinema empire was divided up following a bitter court row between the Anderson family and the Ward family who had been partners for generations. There was a 30.85m settlement in 2013 which saw cinema assets shared out between the two families. The firm paid 8m for the Gaiety Cinema Group in 2015 for two rival cinemas in Sligo and Arklow.
