Low-key Michael Costello sold his Tipperary generic drugs firm Pinewood Laboratories to Indian group Wockhardt for around 119m in 2006. He had founded the company in 1976. The operation manufactures liquids, creams, ointments and powders under its own licences here. These are exported to international markets, primarily Britain. Pinewood also supplies contract manufacturing for other drug groups.
