Rothwell has been at the helm of Irish Continental Group, the owner of Irish Ferries, for 25 years and has grown the company into a 1bn business. His 14.9pc stake is worth around 150m. He has offloaded about 15m in shares and options over the last two years. He was paid over 2m in 2015 and showed his unswerving nature in a hard-fought takeover battle for the company in 2007. He has some property investments, including part of a building in Tallaght.
