Domhnall Slattery made 32m when he sold his Avolon business to the Chinese firm Bohai for 1.2bn in 2015. He was PA to the legendary Tony Ryan before setting up his first aviation business, International Aviation Management, which he sold to RBS for 45m in 2001. Following the Chinese takeover, Slattery has stayed on as Avolon boss and moved to Hong Kong. Recently released figures show that 2015 pre-tax profits at Avolon were $111.6m, compared to a $28.8m loss in 2014, an improvement that will no doubt be reflected in the pay package. He is rumoured to have bought a new property in Dublin 4.
