Dubliner Brian McCarthy built up Killorglin-based Fexco into one of the country's most successful private financial services companies. Last year Fexco has bought its sixth UK foreign exchange business in five years, pushing its annual volume of currency transactions over £1bn. In recent years, McCarthy passed his shareholding in Fexco to his children. Former Fexco employees include Monex owner Frank Murphy and Gerry Barry who sold Fintrax for 170m.
