Fast car-driving, rugby-playing, charity boxing tech entrepreneur Nolan keeps hitting them out of the park. Before Christmas an investment of less than €1m in flight booker Skyscanner was valued at close to €30m following a funding round. Nolan had earlier cleared around €100m from the sale of Hostelworld, a hostel booking site he'd set up with Tom Kennedy.

He's taken potentially hugely valuable stakes in other companies including Asavie, Whatclinic and Mark Roden's Ding. There was also a good return when Mark Little's Storyful was sold for €22m in 2013. The Malahide man is also trying to re-invent the online sales process through XSellco. Nolan has also teamed up with rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll for the Ultimate Rugby app.
