Brothers Peter (60), James (55) and John (63) Mullen surfed the Thatcherite "yuppie" wave perfectly, setting up the Thomas Pink shirt-making firm in 1984.

It was later sold LVMH for around €75m. Peter then resurrected the stuffy Hunter welly boot brand, turning it into the "must have" waterproof footwear for any self-respecting celebrity attending a festival in a muddy field. He rolled over part of his 18.2pc stake when Searchlight Capital bought it for €120m in 2011.
