Ballinrobe, Co Mayo brothers Padraic (63) and Martin (55) McHale control McHale Engineering, one of the country's biggest farm machinery equipment manufacturers.

Some 90pc of its products are exported, although a major fire last year hit production. They are also huge property punters. The brothers teamed up with the Comers to buy Ireland's most expensive boom-time site in Ballsbridge at a knockdown price. The site, originally bought for €171m during the boom, was picked up for just over €22m in 2011.
