Entrepreneurial Dubliner Hanrahan (32) toyed with property development in Hungary and later awards ceremonies before deciding to try to solve the difficulty of finding a good plumber or painter.

He set up Handy, where consumers can book home services from cleaners to plumbers to electricians, at the tap of an app. It's growing fast in the US and a recent $30m funding round valued the business at almost $500m. It's raised $110m from investors so far, so his stake - and that of his three other co-founders - will have shrunk.
