Receivers have been appointed to two well known hotels.

Declan McDonald and Ken Tyrrell from PriceWaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as joint receivers to the Station House Hotel in Kilmessan, Co Meath and the Waterside House Hotel in Donabate, Co Dublin.

Both hotels will continue to trade and will be operated by the Choice Hotel Group.

"All events booked with the hotels will proceed as normal and deposits paid will be honoured," PWC said in a statement.

"Hotel management are on hand to deal with any queries customers may have."

Both hotels are popular wedding businesses and the Station House Hotel has won several awards.

The hotel was once part of Meath's busy railway network and the station was built on a line that operated between Navan and Dublin.

The 35-bedroom art deco Waterside House Hotel in Donabate is close to Donabate Beach and the Donabate and Beaverstown golf clubs.
