PwC to recruit almost 300 news staff
CONSULTANTS PricewaterhouseCoopers is to recruit almost 300 new staff.
250 of these will be part of its graduate recruitment programme.
But PwC is also looking for 40 professionally qualified people to fill "strategic roles" across the company.
PwC Senior Partner Ronan Murphy said the level of recruitment was a reflection of the demand for its services.
PwC said most of the new jobs for professionals would be in its Dublin office at Spencer Dock.
Positions were also available though in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford.
Meanwhile, a multinational games company is to announce the setting up of a customer service centre in Galway.
Bioware Ireland, which is a division of US giant Electronic Arts, will provide support for the multiplayer online game, Star Wars.
It is understood that 200 jobs will be created immediately.
Half of those have already been filled.
Bioware’s Dr Ray Muzyka said the new facility provided th company with greater proximity to European online players.
