Pure Telecom has acquired voice and data services group NewTel Communications for just under €1m plus a subsequent payment of €200,000.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pure will acquire NewTel's 12,000 subscribers as well as its Citywest call centre and staff.
Commenting on the acquisition, Paul Connell, managing director of Pure Telecom, said: "NewTel's customer base and its positive financial track record over the years made this acquisition an attractive proposition for Pure Telecom.
"NewTel is currently showing an operating profit on a month-to-month basis.
"Combined with its turnover of €8.5m for the year ending June 30, the acquisition will lead to potential revenues of more than €15m per annum for the Pure Telecom Group."
Pure will operate NewTel under its existing brand name.
Meanwhile, Digiweb has announced a new business broadbrand portfolio ranging from 2Mb to 10Mb packages starting from €29.95 per month.
Last year, the Moritz Group contributed a €20m investment, and since then, the company has been expanding its broadband services.
