A PUB intrinsically linked to Ireland's sparse mining heritage has come to the market in Co Leitrim. During the heyday of the anthracite mine in Arigna the pub known as The Miners was the centre of the local community life.
After mining ended, the local community decided to tap into this heritage to set up Ireland's only mining tourist attraction.
Visitors are brought on a tour of a section of the former mine.
Owned by the Flynn family, the pub property accommodates a spacious bar, two lounges, at least one of which can cater for functions, a commercial kitchen, an extensive beer garden and a large car-parking facility.
At first-floor level there is two-bedroom residential accommodation, with a kitchen, living room and a shower room.
Property Partners Earley are quoting €250,000 for the property and David Diffley says it "holds huge potential for further development due to the volume of tourists visiting Arigna".
