Profits in full bloom at Diarmuid Gavin firm
the garden-design firm controlled by celebrity gardener Diarmuid Gavin enjoyed profits of more than €300,000 in 2014.
It is the best-ever annual performance by Diarmuid Gavin Designs since he established the London-based firm 13 years ago.
The performance at the company owned by the TV presenter in the 12 months to the end of December 2014 followed a number of years of modest gains or losses on the balance sheet. The firm generates revenues from landscape designing and gardening. The cash pile sharply increased from £2,173 to £175,337.
At the end of 2014, the firm had accumulated profits of £57,966 and this followed an accumulated loss of £175,990 at the end of December 2013.
The success of the business in 2014 coincided with Mr Gavin, above, concentrating on the UK firm after his Irish firm, Diarmuid Gavin Designs Ireland, ceased to trade in the year to end of August 31, 2014.
In 2014, Mr Gavin's gold medal-winning creation at the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show that subsequently became mired in controversy was finally opened to the public in Cork.
