Profits ahead in new Prone Savage venture
FLEDGING public relations outfit The Communications Clinic says it enjoyed an expectation-beating first two years in business despite the brutal recession.
Founded when familial trio Terry Prone, Tom Savage and Anton Savage parted company with Carr Communications, the clinic was born just before the country's economy began to collapse.
"At the time it was my view that we could hit profitability in year two and return our shareholders' investment capital in year four," the Clinic's MD Anton Savage said this week.
"When the downturn hit, we dedicated ourselves to two things; protecting the jobs and salaries of our people and hitting our original targets."
The Clinic went on to hit profit in year one and pay back all its investment capital in year two. "We're now profitable and debt free, also exhausted," said Anton.
This week also saw Terry Prone replace her husband Tom Savage as chairman of the clinic, their son Anton remains in place as MD.
